Why Paint?

My ex-husband told me, "the world does not need any more landscape painters." He is no longer my husband.

Our souls all need art, poetry, music, dance, good food, friends, and joy.  We need an endless supply of art and joy, ready for those quiet moments when we must pause to refresh our souls. These dark time require bright spots of hope and joy as a reminder of why we fight against that which we  believe should not be present in the world.

This sweet couple bought my painting, "Dawn" to mark the beginning of a new chapter in their lives together. Look at the happiness that radiates from their photo. This is one of the reasons I paint.
