Pollywog Pond,
Morton Arboretum, Animal Houses

Picture
Who makes this stuff?
Have you ever wondered?

I'm proud to say, I make it!

I'm hand sewing the giant lily pads that were part of my "Pollywog Pond' which was part of the Morton Arboretum's Animal Houses exhibit several years ago.

I spent much of the winter prior to installation hand sewing many of the pieces that would become my Pollywog Pond.
Painting the giant Equisetum arvense on site.
A friend built this moving platform and lent me his riding mower so I could easily install the 100 handmade pollywogs, giant dragonflies, lilypads, water insects, etc. from 12' up.

Embryos,
Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Nature Center, Charlotte, North Carolina

Success! A salamander embryo with glass eye prior to hand painting.
20 embryo b'bay's complete, 4 of 5 different animals. No, there was not a human embryo.
Lizard embryo encased in a crystal clear acrylic cylinder ready for rough handling by school children.

One of four completed sets of embryos. These were created to educate visitors about evolution. This project was delivered to a client located not far from the Noah's Ark Park where they do not believe in evolution and instead put forth the novel concept that dinosaurs were "Jesus horses."
