Rejection Season
The darkest, coldest months of the year are application season.
Followed by rejection season when we learn if we have been accepted or rejected by the shows we have applied to.
It takes years of trial and error to find the shows that are the best fit for what we make.
We are only “allowed” to apply with one type of craft for each booth.
I’ve been making my hand-beaded leather wrap bracelets for about 10 years. I also create 2-D art and greeting cards.
I can’t apply with both bracelets and 2-D art to larger shows.
Small artisan-run shows are different.
In the fall I do several exceptional shows produced by artists. I’m able to bring both my bracelets and my 2-D art.
And yes, we all need to bring our white 10’ x 10’ show tents and set them up. Tents are not provided by producers. We all create and own our booths.
Stay tuned for 2022 upcoming shows, it's application season now.
